Audie Hall

Mrs. Audie Jo Deerman Hall, 85 of Rainsville, passed away on Saturday, August 20, 2022 at her residence. Funeral services were held on Monday, August 22, 2022 at Broadway Faith Chapel with Bro. Kevin McCreless officiating. Burial followed in Mountain View Memory Gardens.

Jo graduated Jackson County High in 1953, later graduating from Jacksonville State University in 1956 in Secondary Education. She taught P.E., biology, science and English at Dutton, Section, Alexandria and Sylvania. The bulk of her career was spent at Scottsboro High where she taught P.E and coached volleyball. While teaching, Jo developed many wonderful relationships with both students and colleagues who she enjoyed and loved well through the years. Another of her loves was music. Jo was inducted into the 2018 Class of the Tri-State Gospel Music Association Hall of Fame for contributions and achievements in gospel music. She was a published author of several gospel song and sand in the Golden Harvest Quartet and the Commodores Quartet, recording nine albums. Her greatest joy was being wife to O.B. Hall and mother and stepmother to her children. Their joys were hers to share as they began careers and began families of their own. Jo loved many people well and was well-loved by many people.

She is survived by her daughter, Faith (Ted) Harper; granddaughter, Savannah (John) Bonham; sons, Grayson (Susan) Hall, Spencer (Tracy) Hall, Bart (Beverly) Hall; 15 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sister, Nancy (Bill) Gardner. She was preceded in death by her husband, O.B. Hall; parents, Homer and Pluma Deerman; daughter, Shawn Spigner.
