The long-awaited reopening of County Road 38 is officially here! After six years of closure due to a significant slope failure, the road has been fully repaired and is now open for public use. Local and regional traffic will benefit from the completion of this major infrastructure project, which marks the end of a lengthy and complex restoration effort.
Alabama Arbor Day 2025 was commemorated on February 22nd with a tree seedling giveaway and memorial tree planting earlier in the week co-sponsored by the Scottsboro Tree Commission, the Alabama Urban Forestry Association and the National Arbor Day Foundation.
98-year-old Jack Livingston was recently recognized by the Alabama State Bar Association as the longest practicing member of law in Alabama. Livingston was admitted to the Alabama State Bar on February 27, 1950.
Scottsboro High School will begin implementation of their recently approved weapons detection screening on Wednesday, March 13.
Last week Scottsboro City Council members recognized the Scottsboro High School Varsity Girls basketball team. The team recently won the AHSAA 5A State Tournament. The team is the first in the history of varsity girls basketball at Scottsboro High School to win the state title.
