Shirley Deerman

After 78 years on Earth, Shirley Marie Edmonds Deerman ended her journey on Wednesday, May 25, 2022. Memorial services will be announced at a later date.

She was a lifelong resident of Scottsboro, retired from First National Bank of Stevenson and the Jackson County Probate Judge’s office. Shirley was the eldest of six children. She loved yard sales and working in her flowers. For those who were fortunate to meet her, she leaves behind a lasting memory. Shirley was a wonderful lady, a loving mother who will greatly missed by her family and friends. Her life on Earth is over, and she is resting in the arms of Jesus, surrounded by her loved ones who went before her.

She is survived by her daughter, Woodonna Deerman; brothers, Robert (Jeannie) Edmonds, Rev. Charles (Betty) Edmonds; sister, Marsha Deerman; niece, Lindsey (Jason) Tolbert; nephew, Michael Deerman; great-nephew, Cooper Tolbert; aunts, uncles, cousins; extended daughter, Kimberly Blanton. She was preceded in death by her parents, Calvin and Georgia Edmonds; granddaughter, Lillie Madison; brother, Donny Edmonds; sister, Deborah Edmonds; grandparents, Rev. J.O. and Mae Edmonds, Frank and Alice Golden.
The family extends special thanks to her friends and caregiver, Barbara Shirey, including the staff of Heartlite Hospice and Scottsboro Funeral Home.
