Mr. Jim Bates, 87 of Sylvania passed away on Friday, January 21, 2022 at his residence. Funeral services were held on Monday, January 24, 2022 at Rainsville Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in Trinity Cemetery.
He is survived by his son, Jerry (Denice) Bates; sister, Robbie Haney; brother, Larry Bates; grandchildren, Jamie Bates, Lashanda Colon, Jerica Bates, Tyler Bates, Dana Galloway; 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Zora Bates; son, Randy Bates.
