Leroy Mullaley

Mr. Leroy Ed Mullaley, 86 of Scottsboro peacefully passed away on Tuesday, October 5, 2021. Funeral services were held on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at Scottsboro Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Allred officiating. Burial followed in Pinehaven Memorial Gardens.
Born in San Antonio, Texas, he served an apprenticeship as a machinist and tool and die maker, later teaching apprenticeship classes. After serving in the United States Army, he worked and retired with over 30 years of civil service with the United States Air Force and NASA in San Antonio, Houston and Huntsville. He also worked on a number of space flight missions, including, Apollo, Gemini, Sky Lab, the space shuttle and Hubble telescope. He was an avid hunter, marksman and gunsmith, an ordained deacon and a faithful member of Center Point Baptist Church.
Mr. Mullaley is survived by his wife of 61 years, Dorothy Mullaley; sons, Charles (Robin) Mullaley, James (Valerie) Mullaley; daughter, Barbara (bill) McMahan; grandchildren, Tara (Michael) Martin, Christen (Jacob) Roth, Logan Mullaley; five great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Viola Mullaley; sisters, Edna Rogers, Betty Pape.
