Betty Jo Holdcraft

Ms. Beatrice Josephine “Betty Jo” Holdcraft, 83 of Arab passed away on Tuesday, July 6, 2021. Graveside services were held on Friday, July 9, 2021 at Stevenson Cemetery.
Betty Jo was born on Sunday, August 1, 1937 in Chattanooga. . She was also a lifetime member of the Stevenson First United Methodist Church and fully participated in the choir, women’s bible study and was a Sunday school teacher. A 1957 graduate of Stevenson High and 1981 graduate of Northeast Community College, she was an avid community supported and always involved in community events, high school booster clubs, the Stevenson Senior Center and the Order of the Eastern Star. She worked as a civil servant for many years across the United States and overseas, retiring from the Department of Defense as a financial comptroller for the Army Missile Command at Redstone in 1991.
She is survived by her sons, Larry Russell, Jerry Russell, John (Zona) Holdcraft; daughters, Terri Russell, Jenny Kelly; grandchildren, Jennifer Saunders, William (Rose) Russell, Christopher (Sheena) Russell, Michael (Sarah) Russell, Tonia (Aaron) Belvins, Kandi (Oliver) Nichols, Alexis (Ted) Smart, Corrie, Casey, Dakota, Dallas Holdcraft, Alyssa Holdcraft, Brittany Holdcraft, Kayla Terry, Austin Holdcraft; several great-grandchildren; sister, Sandra Metcalf; loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sons, William Russell, Jimmy Holdcraft; daughters, Sherrie Lynn Sutton, Jackie (Farrell) Roberts; father, Robert Smith; mother, Marjorie Smith; brothers, William Smith, David Smith.
