Betty Wood

It is with great sadness that the family of Ms. Betty Jean Wood announces her passing on Monday, May 3, 2021. Surrounded by family, she departed this planet to join her daughter, granddaughter and parents in Heaven. No more sadness nor pain will her sweet body endure. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at Scottsboro Funeral Home. Services were officiated by Mr. David Wood and Mr. James Gregory.
Ms. Betty Jean was a member of Randall’s Chapel United Methodist Church where she attended as often as her health allowed. Her husband and best friend, Harry Wood attended those Sundays she could not make. She was a remarkable lady who loved anything arts and crafts, traveling and doing for others. Prior to her declining health, there was not a week that went by that 20 or more people enjoyed a hot, home-cooked meal in her kitchen. No one was left hungry or sad, and her house was filled with love and laughter. Everyone was welcome and treated like family. More recently, the staff at 50 Taters provided many meals for Harry and Betty Jean. She loved to eat there and loved the staff just like they were her own.
