Notice of Records destruction from JCBOE

Notice of Records Destruction: You are hereby notified that the Jackson County Department of Education, in accordance with Alabama state guidelines, will destroy all special education records of former students born January 1 through December 31, 1993. These records are no longer needed for educational purposes. All unclaimed records will be destroyed after April 12, 2021. If you are affected by this and desire records for possible future benefits, you may pick up these records at the Jackson County Board of Education by April 12, 2021, at 16003 Alabama Highway 35. Please phone ahead so the records can be pulled from storage and readied for pickup. Ask for Tammy Moore or Sheila Fairbanks.
Programs for Exceptional Children: If you are aware of a child with a disability between the ages of birth to 21 who lives in Jackson county and is not receiving educational services, please contact Chris Davis, Special Education Coordinator, Jackson County Schools at 256.259.9000 or Kristina Shankles, Special Education Coordinator, Scottsboro City Schools 256.218.2100.
