Annie Ruth Eakin Short, age 83, passed away Friday, April 18, 2025. A graveside service was held on Monday, April 21, 2025 at New Canaan Cemetery in Section. Brother Terry Wright and Brother David Kitrell officiated.
Mrs. Short is survived by her husband, Elbert Buell Short; daughters, Sharon Lynn (Douglas Edward) Hicks, and Kimberly Cherie (Julian Eric) Freeman; grandchildren, Jessica Christin (Christopher Scott) Allison, Travis Jedidiah (Ashlyn Grace) Clifford, Kristin Nicole (Nicholas Wayne) Magness, Allison Paige (Colby Ryan) Higdon; great grandchildren, Hudson Creed Allison, Amiya Grace Clifford, Ella Grace Magness, Amelia Rose Magness, Kinslee Aday Higdon, Creighton Ryan Higdon.
Mrs. Short was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Annie Mae Eakin; daughter, Tina Renae Allen; sister Hazel Baugh; brothers, Wayne Eakin, Raymond Eakin, and Melvin Eakin.
