Shirley Ruth Sanders, age 86, passed away on Wednesday, April 9, 2025. Funeral services were held on Sunday, April 13th, 2025 from the Hytop Holiness Church. Bro. Todd Davis and Rev. James A. “Totchie” McLain officiated. Interment followed in the Hytop Cemetery.
Mrs. Sanders is survived by her husband, Bobby Sanders; daughters, LySonia Sanders, Angie Brown; grandchildren, Michael Lee (Amber) Petty, Chanel (Brad) Stephens, Charlton (Emily) Brown, Hunter (Brittney) Brown; great-grandchildren, Gabriel Petty, Asher Petty, Alexander Stephens, Max Stephens, Jessa Brown, Henry Stephens, Maverick Brown, Quinn Stephens, Axel Brown, Selah Brown; brother, Irlen Stephens; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Mrs. Sanders was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. Ira and Lenis Stephens; brothers, Clyde, Vernon, Alton, Horace, C.T., Varnell, Orville, Dathard Stephens; sisters, Burndeen Merideth, Shelby Clark and Gladys Rankin.
She was retired from the Jackson County Board of Education Transportation Department in the Skyline School System.
