Bob was a hard-working man who grew up in the depression era, working a team of horses plowing his father’s fields as a very young child. He joined the Army in 1956 and served in Alaska. He went on to become a well-known and sought-after brick-mason in the Laporte County, Indiana area where he and Carol also had a 40- acre orchard. In 1974, they purchased the property on Crow Mountain, located in Jackson County, Alabama, where they cleared the land and planted the trees which have become Crow Mountain Orchard, one of the largest in the State of Alabama.
Bob will be interred next to Carol in Austell Cemetery, which is adjacent to the orchard, where together they can watch the trees produce the fruits of their labor.
