Benjamin “Benny” Matthews, age 65, passed away on Tuesday, February 27, 2024. Funeral services were held on Saturday, March 2, 2024 from the Rice Cemetery. Bro. Nick West officiated.
Mr. Matthews is survived by his daughters, Mandy (Jeff) Hopper and Emily Miller; sisters, Gaynell Holliday, Cheryle Matthews, Juna Matthews, Jana (Ardie) Stephens; brothers, Terry Matthews, David Matthews, Mike Matthews, Gilbert (Pamela) Matthews; grandchildren, Carter Hopper, Tyler Miller, Cayden Hopper and Adalynn Hopper; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Matthews was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard Matthews and Lugene Moore Matthews; grandparents, Hodges Moore and Amy Wright Moore, George Walker and Martha Susan Sisk Matthews; brothers, Bobby Matthews, Daniel Matthews; sisters, Gayle (Aaron) White, Anna Ruth Elliott; and sister in law, Kathleen Matthews.
