American Legion Post 30/Auxiliary make substantial donation

American Legion Post 30 and its Auxiliary in Scottsboro just donated $7,000 to the Veterans Memorial Park of Jackson County (VMPJC). The American Legion Post is one of the first organizations to participate in the new Sponsor program the Veterans Park has instituted.  As such, $4,000 will Sponsor the Park’s Donor plaque, $3,000 will Sponsor the Park Entrance sign and their name will be attached showing them as a Sponsor on each feature.  There is no limit to the number of sponsors for the six monuments, the donor plaque or the park entrance sign. The VMPJC is very appreciative of this significant donation and will use it to continue to make progress toward completing this phase of the Park’s construction. American Legion Post 30 and its Auxiliary is very active in the community and does a lot to help take care of veterans in need. In the center of the picture, behind the check is Sam Mash, Commander of Post 30, to his left and receiving the check is Larry Becker, Past President VMPJC. Also shown are a number of the Legion and Auxiliary members who were attending their monthly meeting at the Veterans Home which reoccurs the 4th Tuesday of every month at 5:30 p.m. If you are not already a member but served on active duty for at least one day, you qualify to belong to the American Legion. If you are not a member, please contact Sam Mash at 256-609-8211 for additional information. If you are a member, please join us at our next meeting on February 25, 2020.
