Shelton fined by Ethics Commission

Former Scottsboro City Mayor Robin Shelton was fined $250 by the Alabama Ethics Commission.
“On December 2, 2020, the Alabama Ethics Commission found William Shelton, Mayor of the City of Scottsboro had committed one minor violation of the Alabama Ethics Act. William Shelton requested administrative resolution on that day. The commission unanimously approved an administrative resolution in the case and forwarded it to District Attorney 38th Judicial Circuit. That request has been approved by Jason Pierce, District Attorney 38th Judicial Circuit. Accordingly, I hereby move that the request be granted and this matter be handled administratively as follows, that an administrative penalty in the amount of $250 is ordered by the Commission and that the administrative penalty be paid to the Ethics Commission by cashier’s check, money order or online payment, on or before February 17, 2021.”
