James Bradford

It is with heavy hearts but peaceful spirits that we share the news of the death of our beloved husband, proud father and doting grandfather, great-grandfather and supportive brother, James Robert Bradford. Memorial services were held on Sunday, January 3, 2021 at Center Point Baptist Church.
Born on Saturday, February 27, 1937, he was 83 years young when he left to meet the Lord on Wednesday, December 30, 2020. Robert was a lifetime resident of Scottsboro, and he loved his home and community. He was a loyal member of Center Point Baptist where he served faithfully over the years as a church trustee, treasurer and deacon. He served his country in Korea and was a very proud veteran.
He was the general manager of The Printing Mart, Inc. for over 40 years and spent much of his retirement as a caretaker for many of his friends and family. If you needed a driver, copilot or companion, Robert was there to offer his support.
He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Virginia Westmoreland Bradford; daughter, Ginia B. (Gary) Riggs; son, Heath (Teresa) Bradford; granddaughters, Jessica (Travis) Edmonds, Tabetha (Jamie) Helms, Aimee (Kyle) Riggs, Hannah Anderson, Allie (Zach) Patrick, Charity Kate Bradford; grandson, Corey Riggs; great-grandsons, Trent Edmonds, Ethan Helms, Griffin Patrick; great-granddaughters, Morgan Helms, Jaylin Riggs, Omelia Riggs, Felix Mae Riggs; sisters, Linda (Jim) Allen, Lorene (Robert) Honea, Sandra (Scott) Haynes; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sons, James Robert Bradford, Jr., parents, Henry and Pearl Bradford; brothers, Donald, Charles, William, Kenneth; sister, Joan Haswell; mother and father-in-law, Hubert and Aletha Westmoreland.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Center Point Baptist Playground Fund, 2094 County Road 21, Scottsboro, Ala. 35768.
