Mr. Christopher Wayne Sims, 48 of Grant passed away Thursday, June 4, 2020 at Huntsville Hospital. Memorial services were held Monday, June 8, 2020 at Grant Memorial Chapel with Rev. Steven Swords officiating.
Known since he was a teenager as Smiley, Chris lived on Gunter Mountain all of his life and attended Kate Duncan Smith DAR School. He was known as a hard worker and a jack-of-all-trades who could fix almost anything. He was always there to lend a hand when family or friends needed help. When not working, his favorite activity was being involved with his children’s sports activities. He also enjoyed riding motorcycles. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Chris is survived by his spouse, Sandy Campbell; daughters, Kelsey Sims Bell (Alex), Kinsley Grace Sims; son, Christopher Ray “C.J.” Sims; mother, Judy Smith Sims; brother, Greg Sims; grandchildren, Brylee Bell-Walker, Addie Bell, Kai Bell.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Wayne Sims; grandparents, Fred and Mary Elizabeth Derrick Sims, Tom Smith, Estelle Morton Noblitt.
A benefit motorcycle ride, in Chris’s memory will be announced at a later date
