Goose Pond Colony Resort, has been awarded permits from The Alabama Department of Public Health, Alabama State Attorney General’s Office, the Alabama State Fire Marshal and The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency to host the 38th Annual Fourth of July Celebration that will take place on the banks of the Tennessee River in Scottsboro, Alabama. The tradition continues with an evening of family fun and North Alabama’s largest free firework display. The fireworks will be held on Saturday, July 4th, 2020.
CASA of Jackson County is pleased to announce we are reopening as AGING AT HOME SUPPORT for Jackson County Seniors on June 15th. We are getting back to our roots—serving the aging population of Jackson County. For now, our services will be limited to a telephone assurance program and building ramps for our seniors (age 60 or older). In the future we hope to include durable medical equipment, but that will depend on the community’s support.
In-person hearings have resumed for the Traffic and Criminal cases in the District Court of Jackson County.

Connie McLain recently received a certificate from the state of Alabama, commemorating her 25 years of service as a Jackson County Circuit Court Specialist IV and Chief Clerk. McLain’s current boss, Circuit Clerk Bart Buchanan presented the certificate on Tuesday, May 26, 2020.
