The groundbreaking for the Shops of Scottsboro development was held on Thursday, July 22, 2021 at the new site for the development that is slated to be open next August.
The 2021 Food for Thought annual fundraiser is about to kick off. Food for Thought is a coalition of food backpack programs in Scottsboro City Schools and Jackson County Schools with the purpose of raising funds for children at risk of weekend hunger in Jackson county.

Goose Pond Colony Resort, a municipally owned resort and golf facility, is pleased to host the 39th Annual Fourth of July Celebration taking place on the banks of the Tennessee River. This is the oldest annual 4th of July celebration held in North Alabama. The tradition continues with a full evening of musical entertainment, family fun and North Alabama’s largest free firework display. The fireworks will be held on Sunday, July 4th, 2021.
