Commission sends letter to Legislative Delegation

Commissioner Jason Venable read aloud a letter to be sent to the Jackson County Legislative Delegation at the last commission meeting held on Thursday, February 27, 2020. The letter comes in hope that the Delegation will place an item on the 2020 general election ballot that will offer a permanent solution to the county’s financial woes.

Scottsboro-Jackson County Rescue Squad $10K Bass Tournament set for June 27

*UPDATE: As of 3/24/20, the Rescue Squad has rescheduled their annual bass tournament. The tournament will be held Saturday, June 27, 2020.

The Scottsboro Jackson County Rescue Squad (SJCRS) will be holding their 9th annual $10K Bass Tournament at Goose Pond Colony on June 27, 2020. This is the only fundraising event the SJCRS holds all year, and it’s the only tournament on a local scale with a payout that large.

The Life Saving Awards were presented to Scottsboro Jackson County Rescue Squad’s Robert Shook, Scottsboro Police Department’s Sergeant Brian Eakin and Scottsboro Fire Department’s Lieutenant Landon Baker.
