Scottsboro, Al. – On April 5, 2020 at around 9:08 a.m. the Scottsboro Police Department responded to a motor vehicle accident in the 10900 block of Alabama Highway 79 involving a motor vehicle and a bicyclist.

City and County leaders and medical officials held a press conference via Facebook yesterday to update citizens about the COVID-19 outbreak and response. During the press conference Dr. Lonnie Albin, Cheif Medical Officer of Highlands Medical Center, confirmed that four employees of Highlands had tested positive for the COVID-19 virus. HMC has issued the following statement:

Highlands Medical Center and Northeast Alabama Health Services, in coordination with city and county agencies, are working together to provide drive-thru screening and collection sites for COVID-19 for the remainder of this week and through the weekend.
