We are excited to announce that Aging at Home Support (formerly CASA of Jackson County) reopened in April of this year.
On September 24, 2014 the initial step in the construction of the Veterans Memorial Park of Jackson County began with the placement of the Army tank on land owned by VFW Post 6073 and American Legion Post 30. On Memorial Day, May 31, 2016, a ground-breaking ceremony was held. In October 2017 the first concrete was placed for Monument Circle and a ceremony was held to bury sands from foreign battlefields under the center of the star.
Scottsboro City Council President Patrick Stewart and Council member Greg Mashburn attended their final meeting in service to Scottsboro as council members on Monday, October 26, 2020. City Clerk, Whitney Phillips presented Stewart and Mashburn with commemorative plaques in recognition of their dedicated service as city council members.
