The Wildcats picked up two wins this past week. However they took two losses this past week as well. Scottsboro defeated North Jackson, 3-2, and Lee, 9-2, but fell to Gadsden City 5-2, and Plainview 4-2. "We are making progress," Scottsboro head coach Scott Dobbins said. "At the start of the season, we had a lot of guys that didn’t have much experience at the varsity level, but they are getting experience now. Hopefully our hitting will continue to be decent and carry over to our Spring Break tournament and into area play after that."
Against Lee, Bo McLaughlin got the win on the mound while Holden Beck went 4-for-4 at the plate. Border and McLaughlin each had two hits. In the loss against Plainview, Beck had three hits while Caleb Brown, Zach Mardis, Ethan Smith, and David Gonder each had a hit. Trey Brizendine pitched seven innings and had a 2-1 lead in the seventh. In the loss to Gadsden City, Brown had two hits while Smith, Border, and Gonder each had hits. Brizendine hit a walk-off RBI single in the North Jackson game to get the win. Gonder got the win on the mound, giving up four hits and striking out seven. Brown, Beck, and Gonder each had a hit against the Chiefs.
