Skaggs and Whiteside compete at Blue-Gray Golf Tournament MONTGOMERY - Plainview’s Clint Whiteside and Cole Skaggs competed last week in the 18th annual Blue/Gray High School Invitational Golf Tournament in Montgomery at Wynn Lakes and Lagoon Park.
Skaggs, a seventh-grader, shot an 82 on the last day and finished with a two day total of 160. Whiteside turned in an 84 on the final day, and closed with a total 165. Four players from DeKalb County competed in the tournament, two from Plainview and two from Fort Payne. Plainview boys down Fyffe Cole Skaggs finished with a 2-over par 38 to lead the Bears over Fyffe 177-198 in high school golf at the Rainsville Country Club. Clint Whiteside finished the day with a 43 for Plainview. Andrew Durham led Fyffe with a 45, followed by Ethan Moses with a score of 48. Ryan Tramel shot 49 and Toby Hurley closed with 56.
