Defendants enter guilty pleas in pre-trial hearings PDF Print E-mail

Defendants recently entered felony pleas in Jackson County Circuit Court on the February pre-trial docket.

"The majority of felony pleas in Circuit Judge Jenifer C. Holt’s court were involving drugs. Defendants sentenced in Circuit Judge John H. Graham’s court were mostly guilty of theft related crimes," said District Attorney Charlie Rhodes.

Those entering pleas in Judge Holt’s court included: Donald David Payne, Jr., possession of marijuana first degree, 10 years; Richard Calvin Sartin, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, 10 years; Troy Dale McGhee, Jr., unlawful possession of a controlled substance, 10 years; Charles Travis Carlton, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, 10 years; Billy Eugene Collins, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, 15 years; Ronnie Wayne Bradford, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, 10 years; Anthony Joe Steele, unlawful manufacture of a controlled substance, 10 years; Nequita Denise Atherley, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, 7 years; Ryan Edward Wilson, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, 8 years; Jeremy Tirrell Kelly, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, 8 years; Anita Carol Smith, possession of marijuana, 3 years and Clayton Moses Marona, possession of marijuana, 2 years.

Those pleading before Judge Holt on cases not directly involving controlled substances included: Thomas Dewayne Bailey, escape, 15 years; Tina Renee Arellano, possession of a forged instrument, 15 years; Billy Joe Gordon, assault, 10 years and Alasanne Cherif, burglary, 3 years.

Felony pleas in Judge Graham’s court included: James Adrian Horton, III, breaking and entering a vehicle, 10 years; Weston Lee Tidwell, theft, 10 years; Danny Earl Lawson, Jr., theft, 7 years; Brent Christopher Southeard, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, 8 years; Jason Eugene Freeman, assault, 5 years; Kennard Sexton, burglary, 6 years; Troy Judson Butler, burglary, 7 years; Lloyd Donaldson White, forgery, 3 years; Angelina Juan Felipe, identity theft, 3 years; Corey Andrew Dunn, theft, 3 years; Cynthia Smith, possession of a forged instrument, 3 years and Kenneth Edward Hastings, theft, 2 years.

The next term of felony court set for Jackson County begins May 17, 2010.
