Several local teams competed in the Northeast regional basketball tournament last week held at Jacksonville State University.

Section, Skyline, Pisgah, and North Sand Mountain all had teams that played in the tournament, hoping to qualify for the AHSAA final four in Birmingham.

In the first round of the class 1A boys tournament, Skyline fell to Holy Pond, 60-44.

Jacob McLennan had 16 points to lead the Vikings in the loss.

Christian Treece added nine points. The Vikings finished its season with a 21-7 record.

In class 2A girls, North Sand Mountain and Section played in the finals of the tournament.

The Lady Bison defeated Section 63-45 to earn a spot in the final four at Birmingham.

Chelsea Ellison led the Bison with 21 points, while Lacy Huckabee had 15 points.

Hannah Pressley had 17 points for Section.

The Lady Lions finished its season with a 20-8 record.

The Lady Bison defeated Ohatchee in its first round game, 77-61. Ellison led the team in scoring with 28 points while Huckabee had 20 points.

The Section Lady Lions defeated Woodland 77-72 in their first round match-up.

Taylor Adams led Section in scoring with 24 points and 16 rebounds.

Devan Wilbanks added 21 points while Hannah Pressley and Erin Massey each had 12 points.

In class 2A boys, the Section Lions defeated Vincent in its first round match-up, 59-56.

Darren Culver led Section in scoring 23 points and 11 rebounds.

Clint Ryan had 14 points while Chance McCarver finished with 11 points.

In the finals, Section fell to Sand Rock, 75-67.

Ryan led Section in the loss with 23 points while McCarver had 20 points.

Section finished its season with a 23-9 record.

In class 3A, the Pisgah Lady Eagles were defeated in the first round of the tournament by Altamont, 49-41.

Ella Denes led Pisgah in scoring with 11 points.

In the class 3A boys tournament, the Pisgah Eagles were defeated by Leeds, 73-69.

Brandon Sensor finished with 21 points to lead Pisgah. Corey Wheeler had 19 points while Skylar Hall finished with 15 points and 13 rebounds.

Pisgah finished its season with a 21-9 record.
