Have you ever read a short story and thought; "I could do that?" Do you still enjoy receiving and sending "Snail mail?" Do you enjoy spending time with people your own age or younger? Then maybe it is time for you to join the writer’s group meeting at the senior center in Jackson County Park.
This group have a few published authors in their midst but don’t let that scare you away, a few short years ago writing was just a hobby to them and being published, just a dream. Whether you write poems, enjoy short stories or have the desire but not the motivation this group of friendly folks will welcome you with open arms. They will listen and encourage but never condemn. They will give you tips, names and websites. Every second and fourth Thursday at 1:30 you will find from 4-12 folks with notebooks in hand ready to read their newest paper to the group. They also have speakers join them a few times a year. These speakers are folks like you and I who are now writing for magazines, newspapers and publishers.
