Morris is a UAB alum with bachelors degree in Social and Behavioral Sciences and a Masters in Education.
He comes to Scottsboro after serving as the head coach at Gaston.
At Gaston, Morris amassed a 70-37 record.
His playoff record was 9-8.
In 2009, Morris was selected to coach the North All-Star Football team.
In 2008, he coached Gaston to the state semifinals for the first time in the school’s history.
In 2002, 2004, 2007, and 2008, Morris was named as the Etowah County Coach of the Year.
Prior to coaching at Gaston, Morris served as the defensive coordinator at Southside for three years.
Prior to his stint at Southside, Morris served as Pleasant Valley’s defensive coordinator for four years.
He takes over a Scottsboro program that finished with a 1-9 record in 2009.
Morris will be the 33rd head coach in Scottsboro’s history.
Scottsboro will face Huntsville in its first game of the 2010 season on August 27.
