Game one of the Swane Morris era didn’t go as the Wildcats had hoped on Friday night at Trammell Stadium.
The Huntsville Panthers roared to a 24-0 halftime lead over the Wildcats and never looked back to take a 37-6 victory. |

The North Jackson Chiefs dominated Madison Academy on Friday night, 42-7.
In what was projected to be a good match-up between a top-ten ranked Class 3A team and a top-ten ranked Class 4A team, the result ended up being a blowout.
DeUntae Johnson rushed for 97 yards and three touchdowns in the win, while quarterback Zach Barnard had 12 completions for 178 yards and a touchdown in the win. Montel Hale had five catches for 67 yards while Kahne Cooper reeled in three catches for 78 yards and a touchdown in the win.
The Chiefs travel to Douglas this week to begin region play. |

The Sylvania Rams picked up a big win on Thursday night against rival Plainview.
In a game that went back-and-forth, the Rams managed to win 34-33 in overtime to move to 1-0 for the season.
The Rams will host Section this week while Plainview will travel to Pisgah for a Class 3A region 7 match-up. |

As we get into the fall the ability to catch fish on spinner baits will pick up tremendously, the bass will be feeding and getting ready for the cold weather. With the best of the frog fishing ahead of us, I thought I would spend a little time talking through some of the detail of frog fishing. Let’s start with the most important detail in frog fishing - that being equipment. When heading to the lake the first thing you must do is buy proper equipment, rigging is everything, it is the backbone of catching a fish on a frog. |
