Red Cross Provides Services for Tornado Victims with Shelters and Emergency Aid Stations

Neighbors across North Alabama are coming together to support each other through the recovery process and the American Red Cross, with the cooperation of partner agencies and government programs, is responding to recovery needs.

 

Non-perishable food donations to aid storm victims

Those attending Northeast Alabama Community College (NACC) graduations this weekend will have the opportunity to donate to a drive to provide non-perishable food items for those in need as a result of the destruction and devastation from last week’s storms, according to college officials.

   

Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast rescheduled

The Scottsboro Kiwanis and Key Club annual Pancake Breakfast has been rescheduled for Saturday, May 21, 2011 at the Scottsboro Junior High School Cafeteria from 6 until 11 a.m. Cost is $5.

   

DA warns bath salts now illegal

All stores within Jackson County, including Scottsboro, are being put on notice that law enforcement will be checking all stores for illegal “bath salts” and synthetic marijuana.

   

Inspire Life 5K to give proceeds to disaster relief efforts

The 2011 Inspire Life 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run will be held Saturday, May 14 at Goose Pond Amphitheater.
