Greetings from We Care, Inc. - 10/12/11

False accusations are still on my mind as I sit here and write.

Some recent events have been very reminiscent to me.  We have to remember if someone is accused it does not mean they are guilty.

Drug Court

I saw a very sad sight recently that still haunts me.  Young people being led into a courtroom shackled at the wrists and ankles and then being sentenced to years in a prison.  What a waste of talent!  What a waste of unnecessary tears.  What a life it could have been.

I began writing this column in hopes I could reach some of those still wandering around in the darkness.  I still hope that occasionally one of them will read it.  Today, especially, I want them to read something “straight from the horse’s mouth” a man who served ten years in prison.  You can’t get to a much darker place than that.  This man, Marvin, and I had a psychic experience at Limestone prison where I worked a Kairos Weekend long ago and we kept up a correspondence even after he was transferred to a prison at Elmore, Alabama.  When he was released he brought his beautiful family to visit me and the last I heard he was doing well.

Greetings from We Care, Inc. - 09/14/11

We had a call today from a reader asking for help for a disabled woman who is a diabetic, has had to have one leg removed, is on dialysis and is in a wheelchair.  Her only income is her disability check.  A disabled brother and a nephew live with her.
