But the demand for feather hair extensions has taken off so dramatically and unexpectedly that salons and rooster farmers are struggling to keep up. Roosters only grow one set of quality saddle feathers in their lifetime and to minimize any pain or discomfort, some doctors put the birds to sleep while they are pulling the feathers.
