Highlands Medical Center observes Breast Cancer Awareness Month with Generation Pink gloves

Highlands employees support Breast Cancer Awareness MonthOctober 2011 marks the 27th year since the first National Breast Cancer Awareness Month (NBCAM) was declared in 1985. Highlands Medical Center, Highlands Home Health, Highlands Health & Rehab and Cumberland Health & Rehab are celebrating this anniversary in a special way – by wearing pink exam gloves.

 

Immigration law brings change for vehicle tag renewal

In accordance with Alabama’s 2011 Immigration Act, (H.B.56) Section 30, residents across the state will be required to show valid, unexpired identification when renewing or purchasing a vehicle tag or title. Identification must be shown for each person listed on the  presented document whether a driver or non-driver. For example, if two people are listed on a tag receipt for an automobile, identifications have to be shown for both parties.

   

County budget approved

Last week the Jackson County Commission approved the 16 million dollar budget for 2011-2012.

   

SEPB to hold Customer Appreciation Day

The Scottsboro Electric Power Board will hold its annual Customer Appreciation Day on Thursday, October 13 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. The event will be held at the Scottsboro Electric Power Board office on 404 East Willow Street and is for SEPB customers only.
