Old Timer’s Festival to be held in Rosalie

The 12th Annual Old Timers Festival will be held Saturday, September 10 in Rosalie beginning at 10 a.m. The event is free with free parking and will be held next to Rosalie School.  There will be continuous entertainment, arts and crafts and food for the entire family.

 

Judge issues injunction on Immigration law

U.S. District Judge Sharon Lovelace Blackburn issued an temporary injunction Monday afternoon  in regard to Alabama’s new Immigration Law. The Law, Act 211535, passed by the Alabama Legislature during the 2011 session, was set to go into effect on September 1.  The temporary injunction issued by Blackburn will remain in effect until September 29 to give the judge time to review the law.

 

County Park Re-build begins this week - Expected completion in 120 days

The Jackson County Park re-build is expected to begin this week.  The contract for the park rebuild was signed in July, but the construction was put on hold pending a permit approval from the Alabama Department of Environmental Management (ADEM).


   

Town of Ider to present Sand Mountain Relief Concert

Together we can rebuild Sand Mountain. The Town of Ider will present the Sand Mountain Relief Concert on Sunday, September 4 at the Ider High School stadium.

The Scottsboro Fire Department pink t-shirts will go on sale September 1.
