The Scottsboro-Jackson Rescue Squad found a body in the Tennessee River early Friday evening.
The body was found about one mile north of the 117 boat ramp and is believed to be Nicholas Thomas, 32 of Stevenson.
The Scottsboro-Jackson Rescue Squad began looking for Thomas on November 19 after he failed to show up for work.
On the same day Thomas’s empty boat was found in the Tennessee River about 1.5 miles south of Highway 117 Bridge in Stevenson.
According to Jackson County Chief Deputy Chuck Phillips, the body has been sent to the Alabama Department of Forensic Science for an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
