D.C. Laney, 76 of Rosalie, passed away Thursday, June 28, 2012. Funeral services were held Monday, July 2, 2012 at the Rainsville Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Earnest Corbitt and Mr. Keary Chandler officiated. Interment followed in Free Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Laney is survived by his wife, Peggy Laney , of Rosalie; sons, Rickey Laney, of Pisgah, and Richard (Cheryle) Laney, of Gadsden; daughters, Teresa (Sam) Burton, Brandy Laney, both of Pisgah, and Judy (Bobby) Liles, of Ider; brother, Bill Laney, of Henagar; sisters, Louella Lyles, of Ga., and Frances Miller, of Pisgah; 13 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren. Mr. Laney was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Effie Laney; son, Randy Laney; brothers, Franklin “Doc” Laney and Raymond Laney; and four great grandchildren.
