It's styling - 07/04/12

Going bald upsets men and women more than most any other thing in life. Now you can camouflage this baldness by having tiny little dots tattooed on your scalp.  This process gives the appearance of a short buzzed cut with clean edges so the head appears to have little pieces of hair growing out of the head.  This technique is known as scalp pigmentation and the pigment is mixed in various color combinations so that the process takes on a very real appearance.

In Manchester England HIS (Hair Ink Skin) has launched this innovative new technique to disguise baldness and they have been visited by celebrities like David Beckam and Elizabeth Jagger. Their business of scalp pigmentation has soared over the last 12 months and continues to grow. This is a great non-surgical option that can disguise everything from male pattern baldness to receding hair lines to scars on the scalp and it looks so natural.

Of course this process is more complicated than just tattooing dots on the scalp.  There is charting of the natural hair lines and the precise placement for the tattoo artist to determine before they start. After about 1 to 2 years, the color will probably have to be enhanced. Scalp pigmentation can also be used if a client has thinning hair. The dots are tattooed on the scalp to add color so the hair will appear to be thicker. Check with your salon to see if they are offering this process or with your local tattoo artists.
