Jackson County Engineer Philip Widner received notice last week that this year’s allocation from the Alabama Department of Transportation of federal funding to each county, will return to the traditional level.
According to Widner, every county receives $500,000 to repave major and minor roads in the county.
“Due to the economy and federal cuts, the past two years the county was only allotted $335,000.” stated Widner.
This year the county will receive $533,000 for the paving of major and minor roads.
