Scottsboro City Councilman Thermon Bell announced his intentions to seek another term in office. Bell currently holds the Place 1 seat of the Council.He is employed with the Scottsboro Electric Power Board.

Bell was first elected to office in 2008. He will face political newcomer Brent Miller in the upcoming Municipal Election.

The election will be held on Tuesday, August 28.

Qualifying for the  municipal election  begins on Tuesday, July 3 and ends July 17.
