Cats end Spring with win

The Scottsboro Wildcats traveled to Centre, Ala. last Tuesday to face Cherokee County for a spring jamboree game. After finishing spring training earlier in the month, the Wildcats capped off their spring with a test against another team.

The Wildcats passed the test, defeating Cherokee County 18-7. Scottsboro scored its first touchdown on a 98-yard interception return  by Javonte Boyd. The Wildcats’ second score came on a run by Collin Warren and the Wildcats’ third touchdown came from a 26-yard pass from Trey Lewis to Carson Hutchins.

Cherokee County made their only score late on a Scottsboro fumble.

After summer workouts, head coach Swane Morris and the Scottsboro Wildcats will begin the 2012 season in August.
