Cats place fourth at state

The Scottsboro Wildcats golf team traveled to Grand National Golf Course two weekends ago to compete in the AHSAA Class 1A-5A state championship tournament.

Coached by Alicia Bell, the Wildcats finished fourth overall with a total score of 536. Hartselle won the championship with a score of 474. Bayside Academy finished third overall with a score of 531.

Logan Chaney was Scottsboro’s top finisher,  tieing for third overall with a two-day total of 160. She shot 80 in each round. Colleen Skelton finished 18th overall for the Wildcats. She had a score of 191 with rounds of 94 and 97. Mary Margaret Green and Megan Gamble finished tied for 19th with a score of 192.
