Cats Fall at State

After finishing as the Northeast regional softball runner-up, the Scottsboro Wildcats traveled to Montgomery this past weekend to compete in the Class 5A state championship tournament.

In the first round of the tournament, Scottsboro fell to the eventual state champion Chelsea, 12-2. Kaitlyn Caldwell had a hit and a RBI for the Wildcats, while Lauren Slaten finished with two hits. Ashley Smart and Emily Glover each had a hit as well.

In their second game, the Wildcats fell to Spanish Fort 2-0. Slaten had three hits, while Caldwell, Jessica Dickson, Alora Terrell, and Madison Woodard each had one hit in the loss.
