Impact's Low Country Luau set for Saturday

Sue Freeman,  a local artist, has been a supporter of Impact Learning Center for many years. This year she has donated two of her paintings to be auctioned off at the Impact Learning Center Low Country Luau on Saturday, May 12. Her paintings will be among many items offered in the silent and live auctions.

Other auction items this year include a vintage bicycle; original art work from well-known local artists as well as an oil painting from Dawn Whitelaw of Richland Fine Art of Nashville; a private concert by a Nashville songwriter; a progressive dinner party by boat, other elegant private dinners plus gift certificates from local eateries for lunches and dinners; guided fly-fishing, turkey and quail hunt outings; painting and craft parties; bridge luncheons, a wine and cheese party, a steak dinner for six friends and a champagne brunch for 25; electronics including an iPad, digital camera and an HDTV.  Exciting adventures in Jackson County include a ride in a Ferrari and a scenic plane ride. Vacations include a cabin stay in Mentone, golf and accommodations package and a whirlpool suite at the Hampton Inn.  There will also be one-of-a-kind, heirloom quality handmade wooden puzzles and various other fine merchandise, services, sporting tickets and collectibles on which to bid.

In addition to the auctions the casual evening will feature fresh Gulf seafood cooked on-site in authentic Cajun-style and  live music.

The live music this year will be provided by The Park Band from Troy, Alabama.  Their amazing vocals, unforgettable harmonica, incredible guitar riffs and hard hitting rhythm section produces a very entertaining show as they perform across the southeast and while working their way up the east coast.  They have proven to be a fun and chilled out group as they deliver southern rock mixed with a little jam blues.
The Low Country Luau is Impact’s annual fund raiser. The event will be held at the Goose Pond Amphitheater, beginning at 7 p.m.
Tickets are $60 and may be purchased by contacting the Impact Learning Center at 256-218-2121. For more information visit www.impactlearningcenter.org.

The Impact Learning Center is a non-profit organization that depends on grants and fundraisers tu support education and workforce development in Jackson County.
