Mrs. Verna Mitchell, 95 of Rainsville, passed away Monday, April 30, 2012. Funeral services were held Thursday, May 3, 2012. Dr. R. Pat McFadden officiated. Interment followed at Mountain View Memory Gardens.

Mrs. Mitchell I survived by her daughter, Dale Mitchell Laidlaw, of Rainsville; granddaughter, Emily Laidlaw (Blake) Beyea, of Colo.; brother, Howard Ridgeway, of Fyffe; and sisters, Nell Ridgeway Durham, of Rainsville, Ruth Ridgeway Berry, of Fyffe, and Ovell Ridgeway Whitemire, of Fort Payne. Mrs. Mitchell was preceded in death by her husband, Carl K. Mitchell; brothers, Wallace Ridgeway, Leonard Ridgeway and Millard Ridgeway: and sisters, Exa Ridgeway Whitemier and Nola Ridgeway Gilley.
