Elbert Leon Beaird, 80 of Scottsboro, passed away Sunday, April 29, 2012. Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 01, 2012 at Randall’s Chapel United Methodist Church. Rev. Michael Carver and Rev. Randy Burbank officiated. Interment followed at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Beaird is survived by his sons, Steven (Emma Dean) Beaird and Bruce Beaird, both of Scottsboro; grandchildren, Natalie Dean Beaird and Steven Dawson Beaird, both of Scottsboro; brothers, Wayne (Jewel) Beaird and Arthur (Glenda) Beaird; sisters, Eunice Phillips, Ethel (Johnny) Brannon and Jane (J.D.) Phillips; sisters-in-law, Betty Jean (Harry) Wood an Nancy Rose (James) McGregor; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Beaird was preceded in death by his wife, Lola Scott Watson Beaird; parents, Roy Luther and Johnnie Beaird; brother, Lester Beaird, and sister, Ruth Akin.
