First “Save Our Bridge” group meeting scheduled

More than 1,800 people have joined a Facebook group called Friends of the B. B. Comer Bridge. The group, whose interests include saving the B.B. Comer from demolition will hold its inaugural meeting Thursday, April 12, at 7 p.m. at the Jackson County Council on Aging Building in the Jackson County Park. T-shirts with the bridge emblem are expected to be available for purchase that night. The historic B.B. Comer Bridge is slated for demolition once the new bridge is completed. Save Our Bridge hopes to preserve the bridge as a tourist attraction.
