Cats take 4th at Homewood

The Scottsboro Wildcats track team competed in the Homewood Invitational this past weekend. Against some of the top 5A and 6A programs in the state, the Wildcats’ girls’ squad placed fourth overall with a score of 41 points.

Hoover won the event with a total of 164 points.

Olivia Thompson finished fourth in the 800-meter run and third in the 1600-meter run.

Brenda Fossett finished 12th in the 800-meter race while Savanna Roland finished 16th.

Jamie Delay placed 3rd in the 3200-meter race and 23rd in the 800-meter run.

Alicia Atilano finished fifth in the 3200-meter run and placed 13th in the 1600-meter run.

Emily Eustace won the pole vault and placed 12th in the high jump.

Shalesha Robertson finished fifth in the discus.

The Scottsboro 4x800-meter relay team placed fourth overall.

In the varsity boys’ division, the Wildcats finished 14th overall with a score of 13 points.

Hoover won the event with 133 points.

Madison Estes finished eighth in the 800-meter run while Jacob Cantrell took 15th.

Cody Hasselbring placed seventh in the 3200-meter race while J.D. Reynolds finished tenth overall.

Everett Estes and Tyler Lynch finished 16th and 17th in the 300-meter hurdles.

In the pole vault, Rhett Roberts finished fifth while Devin Book placed eighth.

The 4x800-meter relay team finished third overall while the 4x400-meter relay team placed ninth.
