The acupuncture roller may seem like medieval torture when you learn how to do it, but it is really a relatively new procedure in the cosmetic world.  The acupuncture roller or derma roller is a small wheel about two to three inches wide that has very fine short needles protruding from it with a handle on it.

You are to roll it in certain patterns across your skin creating little channels through the upper dermis of the skin.  You then apply your skin care product and the results are quick and amazing.  You can use it anywhere on the body. This roller is safe for normal, sensitive and any color of skin.   This technique has proven to be very effective for aging skin, cellulite, stretch marks and hair loss.  The roller stimulates the production of new collagen, elastin and other skin cells for repairing problems with the skin. 

It is common knowledge that the body reacts to any injury and triggers the wound healing process. Rolling this device over your skin may sound painful but it is not.  Using a roller dramatically increases the effectiveness of your skin care products.  Your skin care products will increase in absorption up to 87% more than they would by just applying them to the skin without rolling with the acupuncture roller first.

The acupuncture roller comes in different sizes, so ask your stylist or skin care provider what size you need.  Just for those that are fighting cellulite use l.0 and 1.5 for pitted skin, open pores, burns scars, and removal of deep wrinkles.  Use .25 for thinning hair and 0.5 for baldness and alopecia.  Normally you will use 0.25 before applying skin care products. You will need to cleanse and disinfect your roller before and after each use.  I think all of you will be surprised how effective the roller can be.
