Kyle Shelton has announced his candidacy for  Jackson County Circuit Clerk office. Shelton, has served as a police officer for Scottsboro Police Department since 2002.

He has also been on the Skyline City Council since 2008.
Shelton is a 1990 graduate of Skyline High School. He is married to Kristine Butcher. Shelton also has one son, Brandon, one stepson, Tyler, two stepdaughters, Mikayla and Kaydence and a grandson, Brantley. His parents are C.L. “Red” Shelton and Donna Gray. He also has one brother, Clint, two stepbrother’s, Kyle and Ricky and two stepsisters, Carla and Amanda.
Shelton says that he wants to continue his work as a public servant, but in a different capacity. During his time on the Skyline City Council, he has worked with other council members helping the local school, worked in the community and worked to restore the Skyline Park.  During his 16 years in law enforcement, Shelton has worked with DHR in child custody situations. Shelton says he understands all new criminal and civil laws and has worked with the court system and Judges in the county.
