When the Jackson County United Givers Fund celebrates its annual campaign kickoff on September 5th, it will begin its 51st year of fundraising on behalf of Jackson County charities.

For over half a century, the United Givers Fund has helped support local nonprofit organizations - organizations that one way or the other will touch the lives of many Jackson County citizens during the course of a year. When you think about the work of the 13 current UGF-supported programs, it is no doubt that you or someone you know may indeed be touched by these hearts and hands that care.
UGF assists the Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, 4-H, Michael Scott Learning Center, Boys and Girls Club Ben Sanford Center, CASA, the ARC, Impact Learning Center, Crisis Services of North Alabama, Christmas Charities, Northeast Alabama Health Services, Community Action Agency and the Red Cross.
An annual application and screening process determines UGF’s recipient health and human service programs each year. United Givers is an IRS 501 (c) (3) organization with all donations considered tax-deductible. Administrative expense is low with most of every dollar going directly to the service programs.
All 13 current UGF recipient programs depend upon the United Givers Fund, and ultimately the support of UGF donors, to help carry out the work that they do.
UGF’s Fall 2019 Campaign Goal is $120,000. The campaign runs throughout the fall, with donors coming from individuals, industry, professionals, and retail businesses across the county. Anyone with a desire to enable the work of local charities is encouraged to donate. No amount is too small or too great. Employee groups are encouraged to participate. Employers are encouraged to promote employee giving via payroll deduction or special projects.
United Giver T-Shirts are also available for sale at the Impact Learning Center, Jackson County Probate Office and First Jackson Bank in Scottsboro.
The UGF 51st Campaign Kickoff will be a Chamber of Commerce Business after Hours event, hosted by Comfort Inn & Suites, JTR Parkway in Scottsboro, on Thursday, September 5, 2019, at 5:00 PM. Good food, fellowship and door prizes are promised.
