The 37th Annual Goose Pond Colony Resort Fourth of July Celebration will be held Thursday at the Goose Pond Amphitheater on the banks of the Tennessee River. The tradition continues with a full evening of musical entertainment, family fun and the largest fireworks display in northeast Alabama.

Musical entertainment begins at 6 p.m. Performing this year will be The Night Birds, a local based band consisting of Jackson County natives, Derrick Holcomb, Colby King, and Cody Hawkins. Also performing will be the Birmingham based band, Rollin’ in the Hay. Regular Goose Pond Fourth of July performer, Daniel Smith will also be performing.
The fireworks display will begin at 9 p.m.
Admission to the event is free. Spectators should bring lawn chairs or blankets to sit on. Food vendors will be available. Beer will be sold at the amphitheater. No outside alcoholic beverages will be allowed inside the fenced area of the amphitheater.
In addition to this year’s festivities, the Veterans Memorial Park Board will have a fund-raising booth. Patrons will have several donation options. Tickets may be purchased for a drawing for a .22 cal. Henry Rifle that will be given away on July 4. Tickets may also be purchased for a drawing for a custom wrapped pair of corn hole tables. Patrols may also purchase park benches and pavers or make donations to the Veterans Memorial Park Fund. In addition, flyers will be available describing a benefit motorcycle ride to be held July 6.
